Temporary things take up space, not to embrace
As permanence in life is what they replace
Would I not give a flower to my love
Knowing it will fade, wishing it would stay
I know these terrible beings and why they create such heartache
Demons of the night, dreading daylight not walking in the shadows
Crawling, hunched over as they feed
Caring only for the hearts they still don't understand
Truth in life, my only demand
Above all else, how we should define
These pauses in our path we choose to find
I have and still attempt to show, letting all know
To reveal ourselves to those who help us grow
And statements made so long ago, in words
Still heard, fantastic they may be, untrusted
I know within myself, from the mouth which they were thrust
Could I trust who I should, knowing this could be a fable
My life guided as purely as I am able
I strive to be what was not truly known to me
Hidden away, with so much I wished to hold, not to be
Such things experienced, none would share, made to be known
My strength falters as I dare, returning bitterness is shown
I may not seem to be seen as I am, barely a man
Not a man, a person, breathing with my heart beating
I will love even those meant not for meeting
For some choose to learn from what they feel
Change for better from such ordeals
Myself, I cannot place my hand within another
Not without finding my place beside, as a brother
For a stranger, a friend, or a lover
I find my confidence, this warmth where hearts recover
Life must be, not without overwhelming passion
As only within the memories we make is our life fashioned
This life, these dances
All considered only chances
When life cannot consist of thorns
These are not the reasons we were born
I understand this rose, this life I may have lost comes with a cost
But now it isn't up to me, not for me to see to the loss
My life shaped who I am, damned or blessed
For how the past defines, I will love no less
The future beheld, set before my eyes, for this, I try
I have and will for always be this love until I die
No matter your beliefs, perhaps you will learn
Then and only then shall I know that love was earned

There is so much to discover of this heart
There is no way to tell what should be
Could there be faith in a soul defined by its past
As a moment in time is a notch in its mask
This falling we feel in the days that we steal

Find peace in the memories made with your friends

I smile ever slightly to think of this so
The peace in those hearts will always glow

I still fear the unknown, as I always have
Disguising myself with the darkness that saves
Awaiting a love to bring light to my name
Something undying, to truly remain
We are naught but the sum of an incomplete puzzle
In souls with descriptions of life soon unmuzzled
Fairness, we're careless in some of our days
Accepted completely, the faith in our ways
For futures unbound to the known in this world
Through birth, we are made, but through life grown as pearls
Our love can be real, it can be an illusion
Use love to define you until its conclusion

We may feel the temptation of giving into stress over COVID-19. The virus will act just like any other. During cold and flu seasons, you should take appropriate steps to shield yourself from exposure.

Avoid unnecessary public appearances and giving into overactive fears. When people react aggressively, they can act without thinking. This is something we need to avoid in order to slow down any socially transmitted virus.

All we can actually rely on at this point is our ability to wash up and count on our immune systems. Stay with a handful of trusted friends to keep yourselves busy and happy. Cheer yourselves up and be sure to avoid crowds.

Don't isolate completely and if you are alone, stay busy and cheerful. Paraphrasing Yoda... Loneliness leads to sadness, sadness leads to discomfort, discomfort leads to anxiety, anxiety leads to fear, fear leads to ... well, not hate or the Dark Side... but it does lead to people acting against common sense.

If you have a question or a thought you can't clarify, don't necessarily count on the internet. If you do, check at least 3 sources. Talk to your friends and think pragmatically. Wash your hands often and try to buy less expensive food in case this lasts longer than you may expect.

You may want to think about downsizing your meals if you are on a budget or have lost work. In fact, if you expect the possibility, you should consider it as well. These are all basic, but important things to think about

If you do lose work, try to find another source of income from home or another place that's still open. If you must, look into filing for unemployment. It may seem a little severe, but every little thing can help, especially when you have a family. Just be sure to cancel when the situation is resolved.

In all honesty, your two best defenses in this situation are a positive attitude and keeping yourself and your environment clean. Be nice to the people you meet and keep your distance at the checkout when buying groceries.

To help keep you calm and happy, give yourselves a movie night more often than usual. If you never do, now is a wonderful time to start. Keep them cheerful unless you're like me... I'm a bit odd, but I always end with a comedy special or something of the like.

If you're playing video games at a friend's house, bring some hand sanitizer or alcohol wipes and maybe your own controllers. I'm not telling anyone to hunker down just yet but take appropriate precautions.

Change the filters in your HVAC systems... the heating and air conditioning units in your house. Dust off your air purifiers, grab fresh filters for those and put away your humidifiers. Viruses like to chill in humid environments.

If you absolutely need to go out, while pumping gas, wipe the pump handle with alcohol, or simply grab a good bag or backpack and walk or ride a bicycle.

These are just a few steps we can take. Above all stay calm. We'll get through this.
