Days Too Bright
Feb. 16th, 2020 08:10 amBlue is such a dreadful color
Never meant to be
The sky not honest in its claims
Only what you see
Where could color come from
In the dawn with morning sight
Would not the nothing up above
Be hidden as in night
The lies that spoke such volumes
That only dark reclaims
When brightly colored nothingness
Is all we've set to fame
The beat that calls itself a day
Is nothing but a stage
Shedding itself gone away
When hours turn the page
It never claimed to be much more
Than phases of the moon
Poets written ancient lore
And sung such solemn tune
Never meant to be
The sky not honest in its claims
Only what you see
Where could color come from
In the dawn with morning sight
Would not the nothing up above
Be hidden as in night
The lies that spoke such volumes
That only dark reclaims
When brightly colored nothingness
Is all we've set to fame
The beat that calls itself a day
Is nothing but a stage
Shedding itself gone away
When hours turn the page
It never claimed to be much more
Than phases of the moon
Poets written ancient lore
And sung such solemn tune
