Waking, starting the day
Tea in hand, typing away
Making a few adjustments here and there
Hoping to avoid the heart of a prayer
Here now is a poem to read...
Once written, twice decreed...


Stepping away with each step towards
Arming herself with ever sharpened swords
Lithe and graceful, she swings with purpose
Not a trace of emotion shown on the surface

Telling herself what must be done
As she could be a shadow on the surface of the sun
Hidden in darkness, scarce to the light
Finding her home in the blackest of night

Beautiful figures of hope and decay
Secretly wish to be seen in some way
Still hidden carefully, moving through crowds
Stealthily making her ancestors proud

Once you have seen her, your heart skips a beat
This is the moment that you taste defeat
As swiftly and silently as the night comes
No longer is heard, your heart as it drums

Having let go of all of the one's that you knew
Let go of the past as I've let go of you
My future seems brighter and happier too
Knowing she'll make it I step on ahead
No matter I never once sat on her bed
For the strangest demeaner and her dreams to have wed
All in the past and I'll never look back
Knowing you'll listen to pleas not to crack
Not to be near any persons I lack
I have all my love for the world in hand
I'm willing to try and I know I will land
Let's flip on the switch and get back on the stand
This is now a true calling a reason to be
As I hope is for you it is surely for me
There is now a reason to fight so let's see
How far I will make it as I am ready
Now standing as one with the world and we
I'm open to all and I wil now be set free

Standing In Place

Something to miss about the past
Giving the time whenever you're asked
All of the smart phones and all of the noise
Pressing your fingers down into a void
So much to look at and so much to see
So much to learn that we'll never just be
What's wrong a question for stranger's passed by
Why is it more helpful to just shift an eye
Could all of us benefit from a small change
Or is this the war that we all have to wage
Do I want to speak openly to a fresh face
Or should I just do it all while I'm standing in place

I'll always be here for a moment of pause
The back of your mind where hours pass like laws
I am here in your thoughts with the wings that you hide
For this would be broken if you had just died
I'll not be forgotten, not once will I lift
For this moment you found yourself cherish the gift
There's one desire speaking so open and kind
Unless it's unwanted and that I don't mind
This will be not done for the time we have waited
With pencils at ready and breathing so bated
No more shall that be for this mind is ungated
