Never be hurt by what I say or do
For if I had known, it would have been done for you
That is what pains me the most, you see
My living for life, and you living for me
My heart soars at the meet of a gaze
Smiles play through fractures in so many ways

This is all I will say here and now
If I had known what was meant, understood how
You'd always be first as we are the same
Without question or doubt, I will make that claim
Friendship, kinship, or hearts united
No matter now, it has all been slighted
