Not Forgotten, The Forgiven
Feb. 8th, 2020 06:16 amWhere is your heart
Does it beat with the steps of others around you
Where is your heart
Is it cold and hollow, alone until they've found you
Where is your heart
Are you the embodiment of love
Where is your heart
Does it give you the power to rise above
Here is my heart
I hand it to you, still beating from within my chest
Here is my heart
Though there are many like it, mine to give, unlike the rest
Here is my heart
I will not pretend it is the strongest
Here is my heart
But I will leave for coasts where tides are at their longest
For joy does not live here, among memories of tears
I know your moments, mine too, do applaud each other
Happiness and heartache will be one, facing fears
In hopes together we stand until, one day I find another
There is nothing here but stale air, the breeze that I choke down
Refreshing breaths, I'll rise above the clouds
I realize it's ours, the one I know, this town
But I also know it's time to make them proud
