I Thought I Forgot You (Poem)
Feb. 1st, 2020 09:25 pmInspired by the dark, watching the whispering walls as they turn
Shadows of an arc, shapes that swirl and dance as fires burn
Learning how to breathe, knowing the real is what we perceive
Unthinking as we heave, pressing further through what we believe
So many more creations, so many more, so far away
As we sit so calmly at our stations, moving blissfully through our day
Moments in time frozen only in memories, what we see
Passions and purpose known only to you and to me
Each fallen grain of sand demanding to be reset
Finding it's place among the millions it has met
Climbing through thoughts like a spider on the wall
Each one I have of you, losing grip to let me fall
I'll never want to know why you've become a ghost
For all the passion and heartache my mind played host
I've let go of all devices and decided to move on
This bitter world had broken once, a goal I'd set upon
Remember this and promises that time has long since killed
For all I've meant to find is now a faded, passing thrill
