seeyatI think mom would have loved this documentary; Sensitive: The Untold Story. For obvious reasons, frankly... and I appreciate how they addressed how negatively society receives and treats male HSPs.
Alanis Morissette was interviewed and a few of her songs were featured. A few of her songs have always resonated with me... Perfect, for one. That I Would Be Good... I don't know it well but the parts of it which were played hit me pretty hard.
This world likes to silence sensitive men and turn them to stone. It likes to demand they shrink and then become loud and "strong" instead of developing capacities outside of the traditional.
...and we accommodate, because we're sensitive and all we're really looking for is some form of appreciation and support. We're seeking coregulation and if that means becoming a different person to find love, so be it.
