Red velvet letters in the sky are all I see,
When I close my eyes,
Knowing nothing more than what could be,
Expectations could arrise,
No more failures in all this reliance,
Aren't you wondering by now what to expect,
What's wrong with a small piece of defiance,
Images always meant to deflect,
I look so longingly to the dark, makes it's mark,
While grabbing at shiny things,
I wonder what's wrong with the flow of this ark,
For the newest image stings,
An interest in another world, far beyond,
What are you to me, a friend, an enemy,
I am not a toy to be chewed on,
I am the depths you fear beneath your feet,
Still here within I hold such love,
For all you people want me to become,
I trust in things some wouldn't and hold above,
Attempting to retrieve myself, trying to believe myself,
Feelings of falling while I stand, I am here to make one demand,
I must only ever be the darkness I was once before,
As that when lost could do more than any damage I endure,
Of this I'm sure, as shadows protect an existence pure,
I will not step beyond as it is no cure
