DARVO and its power over my life
Dec. 19th, 2025 10:25 pmWhat my father has done to me a few times and my mother was escaping when she divorced him, especially when taking my sister and I to Turning Point Domestic Abuse Shelter is something called DARVO: Deny Attack Reverse Victim and Offender.
He claims mom was “manipulating the divorce” when what she was really doing is fleeing his increasingly violent refusal to sign the papers. After an especially violent episode from dad, she had court intervention pressure him to sign while my sister and I were at Turning Point with mom.
He usually also showers people with gifts, attention and charity while smothering or isolating the person he’s character assassinating.
