Healing Hearts

Unexpectedly redirected, indicating this is nothing more than a dream
Reality is nothing more than sequences it seems
The ones we choose to disengage and step off of the path
Creating only what we wish to see within our past
You have all the things you need to show the world what you can be
You're strong enough to make it past the things they do not see
Our hearts are made to heal, though they do surely bruise
The only time we fail is when we make the choice to lose
Steel yourself for all the moments here to come
For soon there will be light from darkness, stronger than the sun

Ignorance

I may not be the man who I wanted
Things that I wanted to see
At times, only thoughts to be seen in these eyes
Occasional loss of what's me
The pieces of who I've assembled with time
Dandelions in the wind
The way that I've grown to be, all that is known to me
Lost like a butterfly pinned
Weep for me not, for your knowledge was flawed
A rose never knowing the sun
Without a beginning, not for the sinning
As broken as when I'd begun
I wish for such pure understanding
This heart of mine doesn't let go
If life is a choice, then the choice is to be
Where there may be none other to know
A light in this darkness could welcome me home
With all of the life in its eyes
Though, still as of yet, I am never aware
Of what's meant until circumstance dies
