Is it potentially fun? Yes.
Are there niche community connections? Absolutely.
Do I want to have as many unique friends as possible? Totally.
...it's not where my creative inspiration is rooted. I do weird stuff with my camera. I love Lindsay Adler, Jonny Edward (Jonny Creative) and all their collective works... and it's edgy, fun, expressive.
Toss in ben Staley for all his work and his inspired location shooting... that's a life. It's a proper living experience of beautiful expression and joyous exploration.
Kink? Well... it does consume some mental bandwidth, when I'm online... which I often let go of. Sometimes, I just shut off the internet and sit, existing in my creative headspace and thinking about what motivates and means something to me.
I just stood around my living room for about 2 hours, messing with a selection of GVM lights; SD200b, SD300c, 2 PL60c and a PL60b plus my Zhiyun Cinepeer CF100 and a handful of modifiers as I stood in front of a white pop-up backdrop, thinking about my sister and her husband's cosplay hobbies and their kids and the amazing Halloween opportunities I could make for them.
I'm considering picking up some barndoor modifiers, optical spots, gels for my bicolor lights, a projector...

I'm always inspired by tutorials like this one with Lindsay Adler and I'm already well on my way to creating this sort of work. I only need a couple more stands and a projector. The one she's using is about $100 on ebay, although it'll require some care when buying used. The K&F Concept stand I just had delivered from Amazon is a solid chunk of metal with good functionality.
So... it's these moments in which I feel less alone, because I'm creating something and feeling expressive. I'm letting myself do something fun, mindful and simultaneously exciting.
I think I'd like to start focusing on more wholesome and intentional mental pathways.
I just had a wonderful Wednesday and I was totally off the wifi, the entire day... until this post.
