What could have lasted centuries, thrown away
Broken by the heartless and the bitter lacking trust
Defiled by hatred never halted stated and unjust

Trust could have moved mountains
Strengthened severed bonds
it could have seen the world bettered
Now it's left to cons

Killing off the brightness
Remaining is decay
The night still holds its magic
But the devil takes the day

I'll sit alone and marvel at the wonders not to be
The things I could have seen and been were I only set free
I know there's some imagining their input is allowed
They stand by their opinions so righteous and so proud

So soon shall this be something
