Love in Numbers
Apr. 7th, 2020 06:19 pmFor one or many
Why can the many not be seen
By many as one
Where love places itself so deeply
The hearts of man, the light we seek
Hearts that outshine the sun
Unbroken, unspoken bonds as they hold one another
Cherish the moments as though soon lost forever
As before, what could be done
We are so few for so many
Our strength is finite, still trying
Alive among the dying
Alone, prepared for flying
To believe this could change
Aware of the world, viewing it as strange
Wings cut away, removed kindly
For they could be torn
Softly set upon the ground
Among the stones so weathered and worn
Covered in leaves, never to be found
To this earthly realm, bound so tightly
Unable to fight, we exist daily and nightly
Attempting to spread hope with all we are
Will peace be found, could we ever get that far
Soon to see, for all that is and ever could be
Love to be set free, within the sea
An ocean I see before me
Why can the many not be seen
By many as one
Where love places itself so deeply
The hearts of man, the light we seek
Hearts that outshine the sun
Unbroken, unspoken bonds as they hold one another
Cherish the moments as though soon lost forever
As before, what could be done
We are so few for so many
Our strength is finite, still trying
Alive among the dying
Alone, prepared for flying
To believe this could change
Aware of the world, viewing it as strange
Wings cut away, removed kindly
For they could be torn
Softly set upon the ground
Among the stones so weathered and worn
Covered in leaves, never to be found
To this earthly realm, bound so tightly
Unable to fight, we exist daily and nightly
Attempting to spread hope with all we are
Will peace be found, could we ever get that far
Soon to see, for all that is and ever could be
Love to be set free, within the sea
