The Devil On Your Back
Mar. 3rd, 2020 12:28 pmWhat I wish to be, what you wish to see, ordered so differently
Could I ever have known the angel within the tone
Unknown, eyes open, soft spoken, now awoken, unseen before
What is this devil at my door, hearing itself screaming no more
I am willing to die for what I believe, whether life will release
If this is merely a game, or to be displeased
Notice not to be a mere conclusion, persuation to go on
I will choose no other path, alone or reliant upon
As I cut myself through all the lies
Discovered truth to which I'm tied
I will myself to never hide
There will be justice done
For the days will soon be won
Could I ever have known the angel within the tone
Unknown, eyes open, soft spoken, now awoken, unseen before
What is this devil at my door, hearing itself screaming no more
I am willing to die for what I believe, whether life will release
If this is merely a game, or to be displeased
Notice not to be a mere conclusion, persuation to go on
I will choose no other path, alone or reliant upon
As I cut myself through all the lies
Discovered truth to which I'm tied
I will myself to never hide
There will be justice done
For the days will soon be won
