I feel unsafe and frankly, terrified by the idea that people in any position can support ownership of deadly weapons. I also find it baffling that they can justify ownership of guns based on type... a rifle, handgun or assault weapon can all be used for the same things... murder.

That is what each and every one of them is designed for.

If people can somehow foundationally justify their use, then at some level... they are okay with the idea of murder.

They may use different words to soften the death; self-defense is most common. Another claim is that there are already guns... if they have a gun, why can't I?

Okay, so how about we go ahead and get rid of all of them?

The idea that removing automatic functionality makes an assault weapon any less deadly is asinine.

I am frankly, terrified that so many gun rights activists are alcoholics and heavy machinery celebrators.

Guns, liquor and engines are... a horrible combination. When added to a competition-mentality and us-against-them mentality of sports team support, I see something tragically self-destructive and culturally harmful.

Our world is ill. It's sick.

We are suffering and often willing to excuse the suffering or add more.

In many cases, competition is just hyped up reason to live in a system that also unnecessarily provides plenty of reasons not to. Notable in excessive alcohol consumption and avoidance mentality… extreme indulgence, attempting to fully escape the suffering through manufactured positive feeling and sense of belonging and purpose.

We see "heartwarming" tales of disabled athletes or injured athletes overcoming manufactured challenges.

It sucks to see the show of it all... how truly meaningless it is. But then, we give things meaning, don't we?
