Jul. 30th, 2025 08:57 pmI want to set this reminder which is unnecessary for some people to hear but may be valuable information for others: Straightedge, my chosen lifestyle affiliation isn’t just, “no thanks, I don’t drink”
It is very much a lifestyle characterized by aggressive opposition of the self-destruction and suicidality of alcohol and drug use. Moderation and “responsible” use are not a thing.
There’s either self-destruction or sobriety. No in-between.
I’ll still treat you with respect and loving kindness. I’ll just be seeking any means of escape possible.
